Two-day Indora Utsav to be held on December 13
For the first time, ‘Indora Utsav’, an entertainment and talent show programme, is being organized at Indora.
The two-day celebration will commence on December 13. The event will be organized by the Indora Assembly constituency Welfare and Development Society under the guidance of local MLA Malender Rajan.
The main attraction of the event will be performances by iconic Sufi singers Satinder Sartaaj and Kamala Heer.
Harmony of the Pines, the state’s famous police band and folk singer Ishant Bhardwaj will also enthral the audience. Rajan said Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar will open the two-day festival, and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will be chief guest and preside over the closing ceremony on December 14.
He said one of the objectives of organising the event was to provide a platform to local folk artistes to showcase their talent.
“During the two-day festival celebration, an exhibition of handmade products and various products made by the self-help groups and mahila mandals of the area will also be organised. Apart from this, various sports competitions and a marathon against drugs will also be organised to spread awareness against drug abuse. A blood donation camp by the district Red Cross Society and free medical check-up camp by Health and AYUSH departments is also being organised during the utsav,” he said.
