BJP state president Rajeev Bindal, Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, in-charge of party affairs in Himachal Srikant Sharma, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, Rajya Sabha MPs Indu Goswami, Sikander Kumar and Harsh Mahajan; Lok Sabha MPs Suresh Kashyap, Rajiv Bhardwaj and Anurag Thakur, besides MLAs, presidents of frontal organisations, district and block level presidents attended the meeting. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was the keynote speaker.

The working committee thanked the Central leadership led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading the BJP to victory in the Lok Sabha elections recently. A resolution was passed hailing Modi over becoming Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. Besides, the meeting also hailed the appointment of JP Nadda as Union Health Minister. It appreciated the Union Government for launching public welfare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala, Pradhan Mantri Housing and the Kisan Samman Nidhi, which were instrumental in the BJP’s victory. A resolution appreciating the patience and hard work of the party workers for ensuring the BJP’s victory was also passed.

Bindal said that the Congress government was anti-people, as it had closed public institutions and discontinued welfare schemes initiated by the previous government. He added that the law and order situation in the state had worsened with at least seven shootouts, 250 murders, 950 cases of crime against women and 3,000 cases of drugs being reported in the past one and a half year.

Bindal said that the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) would observe state-wide ‘Mashal Divas’ on July 25, on the eve of ‘Vijay Divas’. He said that the BJP observes the day with an oath to maintain national integration and unity and service to the nation.

Khattar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP was committed towards the development of the country and its citizen on all fronts. He added that party workers were the backbone of the BJP and praised their untiring efforts in the run-up to the elections to bring the party to power.

Srikant alleged the state government had failed on all fronts in the past one and a half years. He said that the BJP would soon launch a public campaign to expose the failures of the government. He called upon the party workers to educate people regarding the welfare schemes that the previous BJP government had introduced and the failures of the Congress government.
