it has been six or seven months since the transformer in our village got burnt and became non-functional. The Electricity Department arranged single-phase power for the village from some other source. However, that power is not enough for us to run our borewells and irrigation of our fields is getting affected. The department should repair the transformer at the earliest so that we can get the regular power supply.

Covid restrictions illogical

THE recent Covid-19 restrictions imposed in Kangra district by the district administration seem illogical. A curfew has been imposed after 9 pm despite the fact that at that time in winter, most people get out of their houses only in case of emergency. All business establishments have been closed on Sundays as if the virus has entered into an agreement with the district administration that it would only infect people on Sundays. Some of the measures seem to have been taken without giving a proper thought.
