Dharamsala, April 14

The week-long Tibetan Shoton festival concluded late last evening with a day-long opera performance on “Prince Norsang” by artistes of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) on the institute’s premises.

Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of the 17 Tibetan Parliament-in -Exile attended the festival’s closing ceremony as the chief guest along with Education Kalon Tharlam Dolma. The event was attended by Tibetan residents and students. It also saw the presence of secretaries and staff of the CTA and the office of the Dalai Lama.

Before kicking off the opera presentation, TIPA’s Interim Director Sonam Choephel thanked USAID and Tibet Fund for funding the festival. —
