Three held for stealing mobile tower batteries
The Nurpur district police have arrested three persons for stealing mobile tower batteries and other costly tower equipment. The police arrested Shiv Kumar, Sahil and Jitender Kumar and recovered the stolen goods from their possession.
The trio was involved in three different theft cases registered by Nurpur police, recently. According to the police, their first theft was of costly mobile tower equipment from Sadwan near Nurpur on September 16. The Nurpur police through the Sadwan police post registered an FIR under Section 303(2) of the BNS. On the basis of circumstantial evidence on the spot, the police identified the accused as Shiv Kumar and Sahil.
A second theft case of mobile tower equipment was reported from Fattu ka Bagh and a case was registered on September 24 through Gangath police post and on the basis of technical evidence and call details, the police arrested Sahil. The police recovered the stolen goods from his possession.
In the third theft case registered by Nurpur police through Gangath police post on September 27, 17 batteries of mobile towers were stolen from Prithvipur. Nurpur police identified the accused as Jatinder Kumar of Garauli. A case under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the BNS was registered. The police produced the three accused in the court on Monday for undertaking further investigation.
