Three-day workshop on life skill development concludes
A three-day workshop on life skill development, organised under the Safeguard campaign, concluded at Wazir Ram Singh Government College, Dehri, in neighbouring Fatehpur Assembly constituency on Monday.
The workshop was organised in collaboration with Gunjan, an NGO from Dharamsala.
Addressing the college students, Gunjan programme manager Vijay Kumar talked about emotions and self-awareness.
He said self-awareness was imperative to understand our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
“Skill development is the process of improving specific skills to be more efficient and effective when you perform a task,” he added.
On the last day of the workshop, Principal Sachin Kumar and the Gunjan programme manager made students aware of correct decision-making, and the various types of communication skills in their respective sessions.
Kumar said life skills were defined as a group of psychosocial competencies and interpersonal skills that helped people make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively and cope with and manage their lives in a healthy atmosphere.
Dr Kamakshi Lumba, Dr Shivani Sharma, Dr Deepshikha, Dr Inderjeet Singh, Dr Devinder Singh, Deep Kumar, Gulshan Verma, Dr Shubhangi and Ruchika were among those present at the event.
