As part of the nationwide Swachh Bharat Campaign, a cleanliness rally was flagged off today by Assistant Commissioner Vijay Kumar at the Ramleela Ground in Reckong Peo. Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Kumar said that the campaign, which runs from September 17 to October 2 is themed ‘swabhav swachhta, sanskar swachhta” (cleanliness in nature, cleanliness in values).

The primary goal of the campaign is to raise public awareness about the importance of cleanliness. Various awareness programmes will be held across the district, including Kalpa, Nichar, and Pooh, as well as at the panchayat level, focusing on solid and liquid waste management.

Additionally, free health camps will be organised for sanitation workers by the Health Department, providing them with health-related information. The Assistant Commissioner also stated that individuals and organisations demonstrating exemplary work during the campaign would be honoured. Coordination between police, health, and other departments would be ensured to make the campaign a success and raise awareness among the people of the district.
