The state government is committed to promoting sports alongside quality education in all educational institutions of the state, said Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh while inaugurating the 39th State Level Sports Competition for Under-14 girls, organised by the Himachal Pradesh School Sports Organisation, at Government Adarsh Senior Secondary School in Sunni, Shimla (Rural) Assembly Constituency.

Wishing good luck to all participants as well as their coaches, the minister said winning and losing were two aspects of life. He said the students who did not emerge victorious in the competition should not feel disheartened and strive for victory in the next year’’s competitions.

He said the state government besides providing quality education to school students was organising various sports competitions regularly to ensure physical and mental development of the students. “This initiative aims to ensure that all children actively participate in sports activities to stay fit and healthy,” he added.
