Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, while inaugurating U-19 schools sports meet at Ghumarwin, said, “Sports train us to focus and move forward to achieve our goals in life.”

He said women were bringing laurels to the state. Dharmani said the government was poised to improve sports infrastructure in the state and a synthetic badminton court was constructed school at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh.

The minister said women were making their presence felt in every field. As many as 670 women players from 23 schools of the district schools are participating in the sports meet that would conclude on September 23. The players would show their talent in games, including volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, hockey, football taekwondo, boxing, table tennis, yoga, handball, basketball, chess and wrestling.

Dharmani encouraged students to participate in sports and strive to be successful in the future. He said sports teach one to focus and move forward to achieve the goal with dedication and discipline.
