Six drug peddlers linked with Radhe gang arrested
In a major operation against drug trafficking in Shimla’s upper regions, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Shimla police has arrested six alleged drug peddlers linked to the Radhe Gang. The detained individuals include Rajesh Khanna from Kosgar village, Dharam Sain from Nirmand, Ujjwal Pandit from Ward No 3 Rampur, Lalit Kumar from Chalawat, Amit Kumar from Kateda in Ani and Druv Deshta from Narain in Rampur.
Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said these suspects were involved in the sale of “chitta” (heroin) in Rampur and Kumarsain areas, operating under Radhe Gang’s network. The arrests were based on evidence linking them to gang activities, and authorities believe further arrests are imminent.

On October 19, the SIT arrested Daleep Kumar, alias Radhe, the alleged kingpin of this drug network, from Baddi in Solan district. His arrest followed the detention of an associate found in possession of 47.74 grams of chitta in Kumarsain. Investigations revealed that Radhe had long operated an interstate drug racket, sourcing heroin from Punjab suppliers to distribute primarily in Rampur and Kumarsain.
This marks the third major interstate drug network dismantled in Shimla in the past two months. In September, Shahi Negi, also known as Shahi Mahatma, was arrested as the head of a drug ring active in Rohru, Jubbal, Kotkhai, and Theog, with over 25 associates detained. Around the same time, Ranjan Sharma, with connections to Delhi drug suppliers, was apprehended in Kotkhai alongside his associates. He had been supplying drugs to Kotkhai and Theog areas.
This recent crackdown is part of an intensified effort by Shimla police to curb the spread of illicit drugs, especially in the remote hill regions.
