A meeting of the Road Safety Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Sirmaur.

The meeting focused on reviewing various activities related to road safety and implementing measures to ensure safer transportation on national highways. Khimta directed the officials of the National Highways Authority of India to strictly enforce road safety policies and regulations in public interest.

He also instructed the Police Department to identify locations for installing two additional surveillance cameras on national highways to enhance road safety.

During the meeting, the DC said Road Safety Clubs had been established in all police stations and schools across the district. He emphasised the importance of adhering to traffic rules and urged the police to pay special attention to violations of these rules.

To promote awareness about road safety, DC Khimta called for awareness camps to be organised in a bid to educate the public.
