Students of St Thomas School, Shimla, showcased mesmerising performances as the school celebrated its senior wing annual appreciation day for classes IX to XII on Wednesday.

The programme showcased diverse colours of culture and tradition, featuring prayer dance (a fusion of ‘sufi’ and ballet), teacher’s choir, Assamese ‘bihu’ dance, hindi comedy play “Yamraj ki Adalat”, ‘natti’, South India’s ‘yakshagana’ dance, The programmes concluded with school anthem, sung by students. Principal Vidhupriya Chakravarty presented the school report, highlighting achievements in various fields.

Students received prizes in categories such as general proficiency, good conduct and full attendance.

In Class XII, Raghav Nahar was felicitated for scoring 100 per cent marks in painting, Mansi for history (96 per cent) and physical education (94 per cent), Kuwar Jeet Singh for accountancy (76 per cent) and business studies (77 per cent), Anshika for Information Practices (89 per cent), Yash for physics (71 per cent), Anirudh for chemistry (74 per cent) and Tulip for Geography (80 per cent).

UDAAN Scholarship holders were also felicitated — Gauri Bhardwaj for science, Lakshay Verma for science and maths, Shagun Rajora for maths and Palak Shakya for being overall fourth topper of Class X. The Student of the Year award was presented to Raghav Nahar, while Toshqui house won the Best House trophy.

As the chief guest at the event, Dr Kamayani Bisht praised the students for their performances and shared valuable insights with the gathering. Chakravarty acknowledged students’ achievements, encouraging them to strive for excellence.
