Shimla Winter Carnival to showcase culture of all dists
The Shimla Winter Carnival, scheduled to begin on December 24, promises to be a grand celebration showcasing the cultural richness of Himachal Pradesh. Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, announced the plans during a preparatory meeting with officials from various departments.
This year, the carnival will highlight the traditions of all 12 districts of the state, with daily cultural performances and activities representing a different district. Additionally, artists from other states will be invited through the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, to enhance the festivities.
Deputy Commissioner Kashyap emphasised that the carnival coincides with Christmas, a peak tourist season in Shimla, making it a significant attraction for visitors. The town will be adorned with decorative lights, and entrance gates will feature traditional musicians to warmly welcome tourists.
To ensure an enriching experience, a meeting with the Hotel Association is planned to provide better facilities for tourists and promote Himachal Pradesh’s vibrant culture. Additionally, the administration will collaborate with the Road Safety Cell to enhance road safety awareness during the event.
The Shimla Winter Carnival aims to offer a blend of local traditions and diverse entertainment, making it a memorable experience for tourists and residents alike.
