Shimla MC asked to settle complaint about Sanjauli mosque construction
The Himachal High Court today directed the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Shimla, to decide the complaint regarding alleged unauthorised construction of the Sanjauli mosque within eight weeks.
Justice Sandeep Sharma passed this order on a petition filed by the local residents of Sanjauli for early disposal of the complaint of unauthorised construction.
It was alleged in the petition that this matter is pending in the court of the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Shimla. Through the petition, it was urged to issue orders to the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to decide the matter as soon as possible.
On October 5, the Commissioner Court of Municipal Corporation, Shimla, had given permission to demolish the upper three floors of the five-storey mosque in Sanjauli on the application of the Masjid Committee.
In the High Court, the Municipal Corporation had sought the dismissal of the petition filed by local residents, citing the orders of the Corporation Commissioner regarding the demolition of the three storeys of the building.
