Residents of the Shillai Assembly constituency have urged the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) to launch a bus service from Ronhat to Haridwar. People from the remote areas of the region currently face significant challenges as they are forced to change buses at multiple points, resulting in a wastage of time and money.

Prominent local figures, including former zila parishad chairman Dalip Singh Chauhan, former Shillai Panchayat Samiti chairman Ratan Singh Chauhan, and other community members, highlighted the difficulties faced by the residents. They said many devotees from the Trans-Giri region travel to Haridwar frequently for religious activities. However, the lack of a direct bus service forces them to traverse through Paonta Sahib and Dehradun before reaching Haridwar, making the journey arduous and inconvenient.

The residents said introducing a direct bus service from Ronhat to Haridwar would not only provide significant relief to them but also generate revenue for the HRTC.
