SGPC poll: Una voters told to register by September 16

DC Jatin Lal has said the process for the registration of names in the electoral rolls for elections to the lone seat of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in Una district will continue till September 16.

In a release, the DC said as per the election schedule received from Panchayati Raj Director-cum-Commissioner, Gurdwara Elections, Himachal Pradesh, the eligible voters can get their names included in the voter list. Rural voters can get registration forms from the office of respective patwaris, while the urban voters can get the same from the Executive Officer of their urban local body.

Jatin Lal said from September 17 to October 7, hand-written manuscripts of voter lists will be processed and the first print of the lists will be done on October 8. The first draft of the voter list will be available for public scrutiny. Voters can file objections and appeals at the office of the Reviewing Officer concerned from October 8 to 28.

The DC said all appeals will be settled from October 29 to November 6 under Rule 10(3) of the Sikh Gurdwara Board Election Rules, 1959. The final voter lists will be published on November 21.
