The state police have advised people against disclosing their bank and personal details to scammers who are duping pregnant women by posing as Anganwadi workers.

The scammers lure gullible women into sharing their personal and financial information. They will then ask for one-time password (OTP) and get access of the bank details, after which they will dupe women of their money.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Cybercrime, Mohit Chawla said there had been a surge in the number of such complaints.

The police official said to get any information regarding the Anganwadi workers, the people should either visit the official website or contact local Anganwadi centre.
