Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania arrived in Dharamsala town on the concluding ceremony of the five-day ‘Kangra Valley Carnival’. The finale — ‘The Band Fusion & Lights Evening’ — included the much-awaited drone show, performances by Thaikkudam Bridge Band and Satinder Sartaj who was invited at the last moment.

The Speaker congratulated the district administration for successfully organising the mega event.

Talking to The Tribune, he said, “I am happy to be here at the closing ceremony. I was asked by the Chief Minister to come here as he is engaged elsewhere.”

Pathania said Himachal, with its rich cultural heritage and traditions, has a lot to offer and such events would go a long way in making Kangra the tourism capital of the state. Emphasising the importance of Dharamsala town, he underlined its tourist attraction on account of the Dhauladhar mountains and the international cricket stadium. The presence of Dalai Lama and his government in-exile also, according to him, bestows a special status on Dharamsala.

Punjabi sufi singer Satinder Sartaj stole the show. Sartaj, popular across the globe for his mesmerising singing, cast a magical spell on the audiences. Sartaj thanked the state government for providing him an opportunity to be a part of the mega event.
