Rs 2.27 lakh cash seized in Nalagarh

A surveillance team of the Nalagarh police today seized 2.27 lakh cash in three different cases which included Rs 60,000 from a sitting Block Development Committee member Jaswinder Singh near Androla bridge in Nalagarh.
DSP, Nalagarh, Bhisham Thakur said there were reports that Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Kashmirpur, was distributing cash since yesterday to lure people to vote for BJP candidate KL Thakur. He was caught red-handed near Androla bridge near Thakur’s house by the surveillance team of Nalagarh police. The cash recovered from his car has been handed over to the flying squad which was probing the case.
Two others persons were caught with Rs 67,000 cash at Jogo village.
In another case, two more persons were caught at Ramsheher with Rs 1 lakh cash, informed Thakur. Both cases have been handed over to the flying squad.
In addition to this, two cases under section 173 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been registered against Yogesh Saini of Rajpura for distributing cash envelops of Rs 3,000. A recipient of the cash stated that it was meant to lure voters in favour of BJP’s KL Thakur. The case was being investigated further.
A case under Section 173 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has also been registered against Sahib Singh of Rajpura and Darshan Singh Saini of Kharuni Majra village who were found distributing cricket kits in some villages. A complaint in this regard was received following which a case was registered and further probe was underway.
