Education Minister Rohit Thakur highlighted the vital role the youth could play in preserving Himachal Pradesh’s traditions and culture. He made these remarks during the Prana Pratishtha ceremony at the temple at Farogh village in Pujarli-3 gram panchayat and the Thod temple in Ratnadi gram panchayat located in the Jubbal Kotkhai area.

Rohit said, “Himachal Pradesh, often referred to as ‘Dev Bhoomi’, is home to temples dedicated to hundreds of deities. There is Mahasu Devta, a revered deity worshipped across the Jubbal-Kotkhai and Rohru constituencies of Shimla district.”

The minister said that even in today’s modern era, religious programmes were still being organised in temples by performing traditional rituals and using musical instruments to preserve cultural heritage. He urged the youth to actively participate in maintaining these customs, which were deeply rooted in the rural communities of the state.
