The Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) employees in Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) has demanded the state government to reconsider their pending files related to a DA increase of 159 pc from the 2006 pay scale.

Arvind Pal, president, RKS Employees Union, said as the state government had granted a Diwali bonus in the form of DA and salaries to its employees and pensioners, the RKS employees, who have been serving since 2013, find themselves unable to celebrate this festive season.

Dark Diwali for us

While many families will celebrate Diwali with joy, RKS employees will be left in the dark due to financial constraints. The absence of this DA adjustment has put immense pressure on families, making it difficult to manage daily expenses during these times of rising inflation. — Arvind Pal, president, RKS Employees Union

“While many families will celebrate Diwali with joy, RKS employees will be left in the dark due to financial constraints. The absence of this DA adjustment has put immense pressure on families, making it difficult to manage daily expenses during these times of rising inflation” he said.

“RKS employees have only received assurances regarding the 2006 pay scale, which is costing RKS an additional burden of 5 to 6 lakh per month. They hope the government will address their plight so they can also celebrate the festival with their loved ones” said Pal.

The RKS employees work as data entry operators in IT section, dark room assistants, lab assistants and Class IV employees at the IGMC.
