Employees’ union seeks immediate payment of pending benefits

The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Employees Union has demanded the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for the board employees at the earliest.

In a meeting with Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) MD Sandeep Kumar on Tuesday, the union members demanded filling up of vacant posts in various categories.

Besides, the union demanded that the work on four small hydro power projects given to the board should start soon. The other demands included promotion of Assistant Lineman (Non-ITI) to the post of Lineman, filling up of vacant posts of Junior Engineer (Substation) by promoting eligible Substation Attendants (ITI), promotion of Junior Office Assistant IT and Accounts, promotion of power house helpers as fitters and electricians by making one-time arrangement.

The employees’ union also demanded immediate payment of pending financial benefits, revised pay-scale and pension dues and pending promotions.
