The fourth cultural evening of the renowned International Shri Renuka Ji Fair was inaugurated with grandeur.

Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner and mela committee vice-chairman Sumit Khimta lit the ceremonial lamp to commence the festivities.

District and Sessions Judge Hans Raj and Additional District and Sessions Judge Gaurav Mahajan were also present on Day 4 of the event.

Nahan Sub-Divisional Officer and Shri Renuka Ji Development Board member secretary Rajeev Sankhyan and Chief Executive Officer Bharat Singh presented the chief guests with traditional Sirmauri attire, ‘loiya’, ‘dangra’ and mementos.

The cultural extravaganza, which began at 5 pm, captivated audiences with stellar performances by local artistes from Sirmaur and renowned folk singers from across the state. Notable performances included those by Mohan Singh Chauhan, Kishan Verma and Daljit Singh.

The evening showcased not just Himachali traditions but also the vibrant folk cultures of Jammu and Kashmir and the Dolin dance of Uttarakhand. The evening’s highlights were performances by artistes Vicky Chauhan, Suresh Sharma and Himanshi Tanwar.

Suresh Sharma opened the night with the popular ‘Gora-Gora Mukhda’, and followed it with hits like ‘Kya Chal Raha Hai Bhaiji’ and ‘Teri Paronthi Laga Rediya’, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained. — OC

Tanwar’s soulful voice enchanted the crowd, starting with ‘Yaar Mera Titliyan Warga’, and transitioning into Punjabi classics like ‘Ho Laal Meri’ and Bollywood melodies. The audience responded enthusiastically with applause and cheers.

As the evening drew to a close, the stage belonged to Vicky Chauhan.

His energetic renditions of popular Himachali folk songs like ‘Nati Lage Nachde’, ‘Bhindru Ni Manyo Mere Jana Churpuda’, and ‘Mere Angna Me Tumhara Kya Kaam Hai’ left the audience dancing and cheering for more. The fourth evening of the fair stood as a vibrant testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage and its seamless blend with diverse traditions. The electrifying performances ensured that this year’s fair would remain etched in the hearts of its attendees.
