Jwalamukhi MLA Sanjay Rattan today performed ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of the Chambapatan via Rohda road, which is to be constructed using full depth reclamation (FDR) technology. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, he said connecting remote areas with roads was one of the top priorities of the current state government.

The government, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, was focussed on increasing the quality of construction works by using new techniques for road construction, he added. He said an amount of Rs 77 crore had been approved for five roads in the Jawalamukhi constituency.

Apart from this road, this amount would be spent on the construction of Sapdi to Panahar, Dehriyan to Salehar, Kopda to Sol and Trimblu to Marhan roads.

Rattan said FDR technology would be used in the construction of this 14.5-km road.

Under this technique, old road ballast and other material are broken into small pieces.

The pieces are then recycled, laid on the road and levelled. After this, a slurry is prepared by mixing adhesive chemicals in cement and is poured on the levelled part.
