AICC spokesperson Kuldeep Rathore, who is also MLA from the Theog Assembly constituency, today demanded the restoration the the SPG security cover for Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in view of the controversial comments made by Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu.

Rathore slammed Bittu, who has switched to the BJP from the Congress, for his remarks and said his abusive remarks on the Gandhi family showed that he had struck a deal with the BJP. “Despite losing elections, Bittu has been included in the Union Cabinet. When he was in the Congress, he would curse the BJP. And now he’s cursing the Congress after joining the BJP,” said Rathore.

In a press conference here, Rathore said that Bittu should not forget that the person whom he is calling a terrorist had suffered the most due to terrorism. Rathore further challenged Bittu to clarify whether he endorsed BJP MP Kangana Ranuat’s statements about the farmers. “Bittu has not only insulted Rahul Gandhi but also his own grandfather Beant Singh, who was a senior Congress leader,” said Rathore.

Rathore also criticized Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Singh, Madhya Pradesh Minister Sanjay Gaikwad and other BJP leaders for their derogatory remarks against Rahul Gandhi and demanded that the government take strict legal action against them. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also apologize to the country for the remarks made by these BJP leaders. Such remarks against the Leader of Opposition are a matter of great concern,” he said.
