Rampur, August 26

Janmashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Rampur, attracting hordes of crowds to the region’s temples. A grand Radha-Krishna procession was taken out from the Satyanarayan Temple, aiming to connect the youth and future generations with religion and culture.

Throughout the day, devotees gathered at various temples of the area.

The Satyanarayan Temple Trust, operated by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), led a procession featuring representations of Lord Krishna and Radha.

VHP volunteers said the procession was organised on behalf of the residents and the Satyanarayan Temple Trust to mark Janmashtami.

Children were particularly enthusiastic about the festivities. Temple trust secretary Vinay Sharma said the main objective of such events was to raise awareness about religious values and traditions among the younger generation, ensuring that they remained connected to their cultural heritage. Many children dressed up as Radha and Lord Krishna, bringing joy to the procession.

The 60th anniversary of the establishment of the VHP was also celebrated during the event.
