Rajgarh youth held for ‘exploiting’ minor
The Kandaghat police arrested a Rajgarh youth last evening for allegedly physically exploiting a minor girl, who consumed poison after being deserted by him.
The Chail police station received information from IGMC, Shimla, that a 17-year-old girl had been brought for treatment after consuming poison last evening, Solan SP Gaurav Singh said.
A police team from Chail immediately proceeded to Shimla to verify the facts, where the 17-year-old girl was found under treatment.
According to the girl, about a year ago, she had met Shubham (28) of Rajgarh.
The duo developed physical intimacy, and Shubham promised to marry her.
However, he suddenly stopped meeting her, and talking to her on the phone.
When she called him on November 20 and questioned him about the status of their relationship, he told her that he wanted to discontinue it.
She then drank floor cleaner at her home, following which her parents brought her to IGMC for treatment. During the treatment, the doctor informed her that she was pregnant.
The Kandaghat police have registered a case under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nayaya Sanhita and sections 4 and 6 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act against him.The suspect was produced in the court today. Investigation in the case is on.
