QRT formed to tackle snowfall in Shimla city

A quick response team (QRT) has been formed to deal with snowfall-related problems during the winter months in the state capital. Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap today held a meeting with the members of the quick response team formed to deal with snowfall in Shimla city. He said the members of the team have been deployed from the 3rd Battalion of the Home Guard and will remain deployed till February 28 to deal with the disaster during snowfall in Shimla city.

He asked the team members to be ready to deal with any disaster during snowfall so that the general public does not face any kind of inconvenience during this time. He also had a detailed discussion with the members about dealing with snowfall.

He stressed that all kinds of equipment are required to deal with disasters and these should be made available to the team at the earliest. Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana was also present on this occasion.
