The HP State Civil Supplies Corporation has activated procurement centres at Rampur, Takarla and Tahliwal to purchase paddy from local farmers in Una district. Bhupinder Singh, Secretary of the Una Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), said these centres will operate until December 31.

Farmers wishing to sell their paddy must first register on the department’s portal www.hpapmp.nic.in, where they will provide essential information such as name, village, preferred centre and the quantity of paddy for sale. The portal will then notify them of the date and time to visit the centre, aiming to reduce long queues.

The government has set the paddy procurement price at Rs 2,320 per quintal. Singh also noted that the centres are equipped with cleaning facilities. The paddy brought by farmers should not have a moisture content exceeding 17 per cent, and foreign matter and broken grains must be limited to 6 per cent of the total weight.
