Privilege motion against employee union leaders
Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani has moved a privilege motion in the Vidhan Sabha against Secretariat employees’ leaders for their utterances against him during a protest.
Besides, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) and Doon MLA Ram Kumar has also brought a privilege motion against IPS officer Ilma Afroz, who is posted as SP, Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh.
The five employee leaders named by Dharmani are president of the HP Secretariat Services Association Sanjeev Sharma, general secretary Kamal Kishore Sharma, Secretariat Class Four Employees Union president Tek Ram, president of the Drivers Union Amar Kumar and the PA-PS Association. They had made remarks against the minister during a protest in support of their demand for pending Dearness Allowance and other arrears to the employees
The government had issued show-cause notices to these employee leaders on August 28, 2024, for remarks made against Dharmani, Chief Minister and some bureaucrats. They had filed their replies to the notices. Now, they would have to present themselves before the Privileges Committee of the Vidhan Sabha to clarify their position.
