Sachin Pilot: No factionalism, Nalagarh Congress candidate Hardeep Bawa has support of Pratibha Singh, Sukhvinder Sukhu
Solan, July 8
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot campaigned for Congress candidate Hardeep Bawa on the last day for canvassing today. He rejected the allegation of factionalism in the party and said that Bawa had the support of HPCC president Pratibha Singh as well as Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu
Pilot addressed a rally at Panjhera village, which is the home turf of BJP candidate KL Thakur. He said that Thakurs were known to keep their promises but a strange incident took place at Nalagarh that necessitated this byelection. He added, “People have given a befitting reply to the dictatorial attitude of the BJP, the double-engine government of which was defeated in the state.”
He claimed that the BJP had been cut to size in the Lok sabha elections and hoped voters would do the same in Nalagarh. He said, “Voters have rejected the BJP’s dictatorial tendency to misuse the government machinery. No party got a majority in the Lok Sabha elections and a coalition government was formed at the Centre.”
He alleged that the BJP’s divisive politics led to its defeat in the Lok Sabha elections and its voter share had also reduced drastically. “The future belongs to the Congress as we have the ability to take everyone along. Our party gives the youth an opportunity and people should support Bawa so that he could serve them for the remaining three and a half years.”
Pilot recalled the contributions of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also spoke on the occasion.
Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur campaigned for BJP candidate KL Thakur. He alleged that the Congress government had failed to ensure development in the Nalagarh constituency.
