PARAKH 2024: Nationwide edu survey on Dec 4
The PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, an all-India survey to evaluate the effectiveness of the country’s school education system, will be conducted by NCERT on December 4. Schools across India, including both government and private institutions, are preparing for this significant event.
The Directorate of Higher and Elementary Education has issued directives to district-level education authorities to ensure smooth participation. Amarjit Sharma, Director of Higher Education, confirmed that schools have been instructed to complete syllabus revisions and prepare students ahead of the survey. Teachers from nearby schools will be deputed to institutions facing faculty shortages, and additional arrangements are being made to facilitate the event.
The survey will assess the learning outcomes of students in Grades 3, 6, and 9 across subjects like language, mathematics, science, and social studies. Using OMR-based paper assessments, the evaluation will focus on competency-based learning, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. PARAKH, under NCERT’s National Assessment Centre, aims to provide critical insights into the country’s education system by examining student performance and the factors affecting learning outcomes. This initiative builds upon nationwide achievement surveys conducted since 2001, marking a new phase in competency-focused education.
