On the occasion of National Press Day, the District Public Relations Office, Kinnaur, organised a panel discussion on the topic “The Changing Face of Media” at the Press Room in Reckong Peo.

Journalists from various media organisations participated in the event.

District Public Relations Officer Dheeraj Bhaik welcomed the journalists to the programme, and inaugurated the discussion session.

He highlighted the evolving role of media in a changing landscape, emphasising that media played a crucial role in building a strong and developed nation.

He further noted that media held a significant position in democracy, often referred to as the fourth pillar.

Bhaik acknowledged the importance of media in disseminating to the public information about developmental policies and programmes initiated by governments and administrations.

He underscored the role of media in providing feedback on the benefits, success and shortcomings of such initiatives. During the session, participating journalists shared insights on the advantages and challenges associated with the changing nature of media.

The event witnessed participation of journalists representing various media organisations and employees of the District Public Relations Office, Kinnaur.
