Palampur farm varsity launches yoga classes
Yoga classes were recently formally inaugurated at the Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, Palampur.
Speaking in this regard, Vice-Chancellor Naveen Kumar said through yoga classes, students would be inspired to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
This would help students develop physical capacity and maintain mental balance through various yoga asanas and pranayama, he added.
He said the introduction of yoga classes was an attempt to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Student Welfare Officer AK Panda said the objective of this initiative was to make the students aware of physical and mental health. All students and wardens had been invited to take advantage of this yoga programme, he added.
Classes would be held regularly and expert yoga instructors would provide training to the students, he said.
University statutory officers, heads of various departments, scientists and students were among those who practiced various asanas at the programme.
