Paddy procurement begins at govt centres in Sirmaur
The state government has initiated official paddy procurement in Sirmaur district at designated centres established at Dhaula Kuan and the APMC market yard in Paonta Sahib. According to District Food and Civil Supplies Controller Narendra Dhiman, these centres have been selected to facilitate the purchase of paddy from farmers at the government-mandated minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,320 per quintal for grade-A paddy.
He warned farmers against selling their produce to unauthorised buyers, saying that the government would not be responsible for any payment dispute or other conflicts arising out of such sales made outside the official channels.
The district administration has also provided a contact number for additional information. Farmers are encouraged to reach out on any working day at the district controller’s office in Nahan at 01702-222558.
