Shimla, August 27

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today said that no budgetary allocation had been made for setting up of the Mandi airport.

Replying to a query by Nachan MLA Vinod Kumar during the question hour in the Vidhan Sabha today, the Chief Minister, who is holding the tourism portfolio, informed that a special joint company had been registered in which Rs 51 lakh had been invested by the Himachal government and Rs 49 lakh by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

“WAPCOS Ltd has prepared the DPR for the airport which had been sent to the AAI. It has raised some objections which are being addressed,” said Sukhu. He added that the Social Impact Assessment report for the acquisition of the land for the airport has been done.

Replying to a query by Dharamsala MLA Sudhir Sharma, Sukhu informed that so far 885 posts of Class III and IV have been filled by the HP Public Service Commission after the closure of the HP State Services Selection Board at Hamirpur.

The Chief Minister informed the House that the Himachal Government has awarded work for the execution Rs 411 crore scheme for supply of 24X7 water in the state capital Shimla to Suez India Private Ltd.

In a written reply to a query raised by Sudhir Sharma, Sukhu informed that bids had been received from two firms, Larsen Tourbo and Suez India Private Ltd for executing the project.

In a reply to a query by Paonta Sahib MLA Sukh Ram Chaudhary, the Chief Minister informed that there were 28,206 employees in the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Board (HPSEB) and a sum of Rs 972.70 crore was due to them as pension and other arrears which will be paid in a phased manner subject to availability of funds.
