Una, December 19
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited consultancy services for a detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed bridge over the Gobind Sagar reservoir connecting Bihru and Lathiani villages.
The NHAI has offered its bid amounting to Rs 2.26 crore for the consultancy.
The bridge has been proposed on the newly sanctioned 50-km National Highway-503A, which starts from Pandoga on the Una-Hoshiarpur road, extends to Una city, Pir Nigaha, Bihru, Lathiani and ends at Bhota in Hamirpur district.
About 1-km section of the proposed highway between Bihru and Lathiani is submerged under the Gobind Sagar lake on the Sutlej. The road on both sides of the reservoir will not be complete without the bridge.
The NHAI authorities said the pre-bid meeting with the consultancy firms had been fixed on December 27 in Shimla, while on January 16, technical bids were scheduled to open.
