An NGO — Himachal Dev Sena — has unveiled a website designed to streamline access to blood donors during emergencies, a critical resource for patients in need. The initiative was launched by Teja Devi, president of the organisation’s women’s wing here yesterday. Teja Devi stressed on the importance of immediate access to blood donors for those in critical condition.

The website — www.himachalblooddonors.in — provides comprehensive information about blood donors across all districts in Himachal Pradesh. This platform aims to assist caregivers who often face challenges in securing blood for hospitalised patients during urgent situations.

Teja Devi noted the difficulties that relatives of patients encounter when trying to arrange for blood donations, particularly in time-sensitive circumstances. The NGO intends to distribute this resource to government hospitals statewide, ensuring caregivers could quickly find necessary information without delays.

The blood provided through this initiative could be life-saving for various vulnerable groups, including women with pregnancy complications, accident victims, children suffering from severe anaemia due to malnutrition and cancer patients undergoing treatment.

Teja Devi called upon potential blood donors to register on the website, facilitating a more efficient response in times of need. The platform was developed by Manish Vats, the NGO’s founder and a professional software engineer.
