Nepalese labourer arrested for murder

The accused was nabbed from Narkanda within 4 hrs of reporting

A Nepalese labourer was nabbed for allegedly murdering his wife by using a sharp object at Jakradi village at Kotkhai in Shimla.

The accused was identified as Ramesh (25) while the deceased was identified as his wife Dhanmaya (22), both natives of Nepal. They worked as labourers in the apple orchards of a local Kotkhai resident.

As per the complaint filed by Rajinder Singh, on October 23, a Nepalese couple, along with their three-yr-old son had come to work in his orchard. He gave them place to live in a shed that was located around 50-mt away from his own house.

He further alleged that after working for two to three days, Ramesh went missing from the shed. When contacted, he said that he was in Theog for some work.

On the evening of October 28, another Nepalese labourer who was working in the orchard owned by Rajinder’s brother told him that the body of Ramesh’ s wife was lying in the shed.

Rajinder informed the police, a police team from Kotkhai reached the spot and found the dead body that was wrapped between two quilts.

Taking immediate action, the police nabbed the accused from Narkanda within four hours of the reporting of the incident.

A case has been registered against the accused.
