Negi: Chinese drones entering Indian airspace in Kinnaur district

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi today claimed that Chinese drones had repeatedly entered the Indian airspace in Kinnaur district. “People in the Rishi Dogri area opposite the Pooh block and Shipki La in Kinnaur claim to have seen drones entering the Indian airspace,” he added.

Negi said, “Chinese drones have violated our airspace several times. Even a Chinese plane has been seen on our side of the border.” He added that despite several incursions by Chinese drones into our territory, the Central Government was not taking any action. “Repeated incursions by Chinese drones into our territory and the Central Government taking no action to check it have made the people of the area scared,” he alleged.

Negi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had in the past said that none had entered our area, nor anyone could do so in future. “In Ladakh, China has gobbled up a big chunk of our land. And now, the threat has reached the border of Himachal as well,” he alleged.

The minister said India was also constructing roads in border areas and the drones were probably sent to gather detailed information about the activities on the Indian side. “China is sending drones to gather information, and we are witnessing all this like a mute spectator,” he alleged, adding that the Central Government should take immediate action to check these incursions. Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts share a 240 km long border with China.
