To commemorate its 60th anniversary, the National School of Drama Repertory Company in collaboration with the Department of Language and Culture, Himachal Pradesh, will hold Hirak Jayanti Natya Samaroh, a national-level theatre festival, at the Gaiety Theatre in Shimla.

The week-long festival will feature seven plays that will be performed by the repertory. The festival will kick off with renowned play ‘Taj Mahal ka Tender’ and will conclude with the performance of play ‘Babuji’. Through the week, the festival will also feature some of the most renowned and popular plays such as ‘Laila Majnu’, ‘Andha Yug’, ‘Bayan’, ‘Mai Ni Mai Main Ka Se Kahoon’ and ‘Band Gali Ka Akhiri Makan’.

The plays have been helmed by renowned theatre directors including Ram Gopal Bajaj, Chitaranjan Tripathi, and Rajesh Singh. In addition, the NSD Repertory Company will also be conducting a five-day acting and theatre workshop on the premises of Gaiety Theatre from Nov 5 till Nov 9. The workshop will be held in two-hour long sessions and will focus on acting and theatre.
