Shimla, July 5
BJP national president JP Nadda has appointed Mathura MLA Shrikant Sharma as the in-charge of party affairs in Himachal Pradesh and retained Sanjay Tandon as co-incharge while making the appointment of party in-charges for various states. Sharma, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, will replace former MP Avinash Rai Khanna as the state in-charge.
Sharma was the state in-charge for the recent Lok Sabha elections. He is familiar with Himachal as he was the in-charge of the Election Management Committee for the 2022 Assembly elections and the Shimla Municipal Corporation poll. In 2014 also, Sharma was the state in-charge for the Lok Sabha elections.
BJP state president Rajeev Bindal, Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur have congratulated Sharma and Tandon on their appointment.
