Mandi’s Shilha Kipar fair celebrates culture, community and artistry
The Shilha Kipar fair, a traditional festival recently held at NELA in Mandi district, was a vibrant celebration of over 60 years of culture, customs and artistry.
All regional deities were present at the fair, and gathered at the Ghughata Temple during the day.
Local residents warmly welcomed the deities before they proceeded to the Dev Bhandar in Shilha Kipar.
The evening festivities included cultural programmes featuring local artistes, who presented issues relevant to the community in the traditional ‘Banthdda’ style.
Residents of all ages came together to participate, showcasing the fair’s unifying spirit.
Mandi Municipal Corporation (MC) Councillor Rajender Mohan said the event was not only preserved the rich heritage for future generations, but also fostered camaraderie.
The fair committee received a grant of Rs 21,000 from the MC to support the event.
