Flying Officer Chaman, serving with the 1 HP Air Squadron, NCC, Kullu, recently completed an intensive refresher course at Indian Air Force Station, Tambaram, in Chennai to become a Flight Lieutenant. The course organised under the Ministry of Defence from June 3 to June 30 and saw the participation of 15 Flying Officers and Flight Lieutenant level officers from across the country.

Recognising exemplary performance, Associate NCC officers excelling in various disciplines were honoured by Group Captain MK Chauhan and Course Commander Wing Commander LK Tandon at Air Force Station in Chennai. Flying Officer Chaman, representing Himachal Pradesh, received accolades for his outstanding contribution.

Group Captain SK Sharma, Commanding Officer of 1 HP Air Squadron, NCC, Kullu, and Prof Surina Sharma, principal of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, extended congratulations for Flying Officer Chaman’s successful completion of the course.

Under Chaman’s stewardship, 13 NCC cadets from Vallabh Government College have been commissioned in the Indian Armed Forces and eight were selected for the Republic Day Parade from 2018 to 2024. Wing Commanders Devashish Dey and Anil Tiwari lauded Chaman’s leadership, underscoring his transformative impact on the NCC cadets.
