Man kills self by consuming poison in Shimla
A 30-year-old man allegedly died by suicide by consuming poison in Shimla, the police said here today. According to the police, the person was a native of Jathot village in Arki Tehsil in Solan district and was living in Lower Phagli locality in the state’s capital.
According to the police, his wife was trying to contact him but he was not picking up the phone. His wife then proceeded to call one of their relatives who also lives in the Phagli area. When his relative reached their and tried to open the door, he found that the door was locked from inside. Later, his relative with the help of the landlord was able to get into the room from another door. When they entered the room, they found him lying unconsious with foam coming out of his mouth.
They immediately informed the police and a police team from the Boileauganj police station reached the spot and took the body to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) for postmortem.
Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi confirmed the report and said a case under Section 194 (suicide) of the Bharatiya Nagrik Nyaya Sanhita has been registered and further investigation was underway.
