In line with the directives of the Supreme Court and the provisions of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, Sirmaur District Magistrate Sumit Khimta has issued strict orders to control noise and air pollution during the upcoming Diwali festival.

These measures aim to protect sensitive areas and silence zones in the district from excessive pollution. According to the order, the use of sound-emitting firecrackers and fireworks that generate excessive smoke will be prohibited. Violators will face legal action under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.

In a bid to ensure a peaceful and environmentally responsible celebration of Diwali in Sirmaur, and safeguard public health and the environment, the district administration has urged residents to adhere to these guidelines and celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly manner.
