Himachal LoP Jai Ram Thakur alleges irregularity in cancelled tender
Shimla, July 21
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today alleged that the state government has cancelled the tender for the digitisation of APMC mandis in the state after the opposition raised its voice about some irregularities in the tendering process.
The Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board (HPSAMB) had floated a Rs 6.7 crore tender for the digitisation of the APMC mandis a short while ago. A senior official had hinted that the tender was likely to be re-floated as the company, which was awarded the tender, was likely to back out over the confusion on GST payment.
Thakur alleged that the tender had been awarded to benefit someone by ignoring financial rules and now it had been cancelled by the government to save the people involved in the tendering process. Thakur challenged the government to come out with the truth in the matter and take strict action against the people involved in the “scam”.
