Lack of funds won’t hinder Sangrah’s development, says Deputy Speaker
A meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (Patient Welfare Committee) was held at the Panchayat Samiti Hall in Sangrah under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Vinay Kumar. The aim of the meeting was to enhance healthcare services in the region and effective implementation of various health schemes run by the state government.
Vinay Kumar emphasised that Rogi Kalyan Samiti’s funds should be utilised to provide better healthcare facilities for the people in the area and the financial details should be maintained with transparency. He said the state government is committed to providing improved healthcare services and assured that a lack of funds would not hinder the development of Sangrah.
Kumar announced that the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sangrah had been upgraded to a Model Community Health Centre by the state government. Soon, the hospital — which currently had six beds — would be expanded to a 50-bed facility. He acknowledged the lack of several essential facilities at the hospital. He promised that advanced medical services such as X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound, and ultra-lab would soon be available at the hospital, ensuring that residents receive healthcare services locally. Additionally, a new dental chair will be installed to replace the old one, and the hospital’s retaining wall will be repaired promptly to prevent any risk.
He said the number of doctors at the hospital had been increased from two to 10, and nurses would also be hired on an outsourced basis soon. The government is prioritising the availability of high-quality healthcare services here and necessary funds will be allocated from either the state government or the MLA’s fund to ensure the fulfilment of these needs.
Dr Vaibhav Goyal, who conducted the meeting, presented a proposed budget of Rs 35,70,980 for the upcoming fiscal year for approval by the committee.
Sangrah Subdivisional Magistrate and Chairman of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti Sunil Kayath along with Nahan Chief Medical Officer Dr Ajay Pathak honoured Vinay Kumar.
Before the meeting, the Deputy Speaker inspected the Community Health Centre in Sangrah and visited patients to inquire about their wellbeing.
