Kullu school celebrates family values
Our Lady of the Snows (OLS) school, Kullu, celebrated OLS Utsav, its annual function, with the theme of “Family: An Icon and Abode of Virtues” at Atal Sadan here today.
Principal Antony Solomon welcomed Kullu Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan Gokulachandran, who was the chief guest of the event. The Kullu SP was presented a Kullu cap, shawl and replica of a temple.
The chief guest, during his address, emphasised the importance of sports and extracurricular activities along with studies. The principal delivered the vote of thanks.
He said, “Every year, the utsav carries a unique theme that resonates with the values and teachings of the institution. This year’s theme underscores the importance of family as a foundational pillar in shaping individuals and society.”
The event not only celebrated the bond between family members but also highlighted how these connections fostered virtues like love, respect, compassion and integrity, he added. The moderators of various groups and clubs of schools outlined their functions and achievements.
The event was a collaborative effort, with parents being actively involved in helping organise the function, ensuring that the essence of the theme was reflected in the ambiance. The auditorium was adorned with family-oriented symbols such as heart-shaped decorations, intertwined hands and images representing unity.
The performances at the event captured the essence of the theme.
Students showcased their talent in various forms — dramatic skits illustrating family values, dance performances symbolising love and unity, and musical renditions that evoked the warmth and strength found within family bonds. The powerful portrayal of family dynamics resonated deeply with the audience, underscoring the message that virtues such as empathy, sacrifice and patience thrive in a loving home.
