Kangra administration gears up to deal with winters in tribal areas
Kangra district administration has geared up to deal with any kind of disaster, especially in the tribal regions, including Bara Bhangal village, which are totally cut off from other parts of the state during winters.
During a meeting held with officials of all departments, Hemraj Bairwa, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, directed them to complete preparations to deal with any untoward situation before the start of snowfall.
Bairwa said, “The administration is fully alert to keep the life of the people smooth in the district during winter and provide electricity, water and ration in the rural areas, besides maintaining traffic in regions affected by snowfall. Every department should appoint one nodal officer for disaster management during winters and share their mobile numbers with the District Disaster Management Authority.”
Bairwa said, “Department officials should ensure to open roads closed due to rain and snowfall during winter on priority basis and ensure uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply arrangements.”

He also directed the Health Department to arrange for all life-saving medicines for these areas.
